We- R- Family is a family-centered program that encompasses two main components: the Parent Education Series, which is geared towards parents, and Hand in Hand with Children, which provides recreational outings for ACSNJ families.

The Parent Education Series is a great place for parents in similar situations to meet, learn new skills, share ideas, and support each other through interactive, family-centered workshops. This bimonthly series is designed to tackle difficult issues that families face in every day life.  

Workshops include topics such as:  How to talk to your children about HIV, How to Relieve Stress, Strategies for Family Budgeting, Computer Skills for the 21st Century, and Plumbing Repair and Maintenance Skills 101.  Childcare, transportation, and dinner is provided at each event.

The Hand in Hand Program is a series of recreational outings & services for children. The program's events include the Client BBQ, the Children's Christmas Party, the Winter Coat Drive, the School Backpack Drive and more... 

Whether it’s going to the park, the zoo, a Globetrotters game or the Circus, Hand 
in Hand plans bimonthly recreational events families. These outings provide an opportunity to take a break from the difficult issues that these families are facing.  The events provide a non-threatening supportive environment for children under 
17 years of age.

At the end of August, it is time for Camp Bright Feathers.  Along with several other area agencies, ACSNJ helps to run and support this annual camp for children infected and affected by HIV/AIDS.  Volunteer to be a full time or part-time counselor.

Get involved in one of the many opportunities to help children whose lives have been impacted by AIDS. 

Volunteers are always welcome to sit on the We-R-Family sub-committee and help plan these workshops and facilitate our children's events.
