Negotiable (between the hours of 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.)      

There is a minimum requirement of 10 on-site hours per week over a minimum of two days Monday – Friday.

Description:

 Intern with a fun, dynamic organization and make a difference in your community. The AIDS Coalition of Southern New Jersey (ACSNJ) is a non-profit agency that provides 18 free social services to people in South Jersey affected by HIV / AIDS. Our mission is to enhance the quality and length of life for those suffering with the disease and to educate our community about AIDS related issues.

 The ACSNJ Marketing & Development Department is currently searching for one to two interns or student workers to assist with various tasks. Becoming an ACSNJ intern is a great opportunity for communications students of any level to learn more about non-profit public relations, marketing and fundraising.

Intern Responsibilities:

  • Write articles for and assist with creating the layout of ACSNJ’s bi-annual newsletter.
  • Compose press releases for agency events and assist with media outreach.
  • Assist with all aspects of special events planning and implementation for both fundraising and client events. (Note: There may be an opportunity for a dedicated student to entirely run a client event. Call ACSNJ for more details.)
  • Assist with developing website written content.
  • Help with various other public relations, marketing and/or fundraising tasks.

Skills Required:

Successful applicants must have basis knowledge of composing a press release and Microsoft Office Suite. Experience creating websites or using InDesign, Photoshop or Illustrator are a plus.

Pay:

No financial compensation is available at this time; however, interns can use placement for college course credit. Rowan University FWS Student Workers may be eligible for compensation thorough the Rowan FWS program. Contact ACSNJ for more details.
