Hours/Schedule:         

Negotiable (between the hours of 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.)      

There is a minimum requirement of 10 hours of on-site work per week. On-site work must be completed on Mondays, Tuesdays or Thursdays only.  Some off-site work may be allowed and will be determined on an individual basis.  

Description: 

Intern with a fun, dynamic organization and make a difference in your community. The AIDS Coalition of Southern New Jersey (ACSNJ) is a non-profit agency that provides 18 free social services to people in South Jersey affected by HIV / AIDS. Our mission is to enhance the quality and length of life for those suffering with the disease and to educate our community about AIDS related issues.

The ACSNJ Human Resources Department is currently searching for one intern or student worker to assist with human resources tasks. Becoming an ACSNJ intern is a great opportunity for students interested in human resources for non-profit organizations of sophomore level or higher to learn more about this program.  

Intern Responsibilities:

  • Assist with recruiting responsibilities including downloading resumes, reviewing resumes and setting interview schedules
  • Maintain spreadsheets for various areas of Human Resources
  • Assist with job description review and revision process
  • Assist with auditing and updating information in personnel files
  • General clerical or administrative tasks relating to an Human Resources department
  • Help identify low or no cost training opportunities

Skills Required:

Successful applicants will be organized and aim for a career in Human Resources Management. A variety of majors will be considered, but students should have completed a minimum of 60 credits towards their degree.

Pay:

No financial compensation is available at this time; however, interns will work on projects that can be added to portfolios and/or used for college course credit. Federal Work Study Student Workers may be eligible for compensation thorough the FWS program. Contact ACSNJ for more details.
