Negotiable (between the hours of 9am-6pm)

There is a minimum requirement of 15 hours of on-site work per week. This must be done during a minimum of two days Monday - Friday.

Description: 

Intern with a fun, dynamic organization and make a difference in your community. The AIDS Coalition of Southern New Jersey (ACSNJ) is a non-profit agency that provides 18 free social services to people in South Jersey affected by HIV / AIDS. Our mission is to enhance the quality and length of life for those suffering with the disease and to educate our community about AIDS related issues.

The ACSNJ Finance Department is currently searching for one to two interns or student workers to assist the Grants Coordinator with research for grants and assistance with application preparation. Becoming an ACSNJ intern is a great opportunity for accounting, English or Liberal Arts majors to learn more about grant writing and research for non-profit organizations.

 Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Research potential corporate, federal, state and foundation grants
  • Identify possible sources of funding through on-line research and relevant publications
  • Write brief reports on research findings
  • Review and update funding and/or prospect database
  • Compile statistics relevant to ACSNJ programs and grants.
  • Maintain insight regarding trends in HIV/AIDS through articles, websites and other readings.
  • Assist in donor prospect research; grant proposals and special events as needed.
  • Assist with all duties as assigned by Grants Coordinator or Chief Financial Officer.

  • The ability to communicate and work well with others
  • Excellent computer and writing skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Enthusiasm to learn more about grant writing

 Pay:

No financial compensation is available at this time; however, interns can use placement for college course credit. Rowan University FWS Student Workers may be eligible for compensation thorough the Rowan FWS program. Contact ACSNJ for more details.
