Hours/Schedule:
Negotiable (between the hours of 9am-6pm)
There is a minimum requirement of 15 hours of on-site work per week. This must be done during a minimum of two days Monday - Friday.
Description:
Intern with a fun, dynamic organization and make a difference in your community. The AIDS Coalition of Southern New Jersey (ACSNJ) is a non-profit agency that provides 18 free social services to people in South Jersey affected by HIV/AIDS. Our mission is to enhance the quality and length of life for those suffering with the disease and to educate our community about AIDS related issues.
The ACSNJ Accounting Department is currently searching for two interns or student workers to help the Staff Accountant and Finance Assistant with various tasks. Becoming an ACSNJ intern is a great opportunity for Accounting or Finance students to learn more about non-profit Accounting practices.
Intern Responsibilities:
- Prepare funding source expense reports
- Payroll Tasks
- Account Reconciliations
- Month end closings
- Financial statement preparation
- Data Analysis
- Accounts Payable/Receivable
- Other Accounting tasks based on skill level
Skills Required:
Successful applicants must be Accounting or Finance Majors at a minimum of Junior level (60 credits completed). Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, is required. Experience using Accounting software is a plus.
Pay:
No financial compensation is available at this time; however, interns can use placement for college course credit. Rowan University FWS Student Workers may be eligible for compensation thorough the Rowan FWS program. Contact ACSNJ for more details.
