ACSNJ HISTORY

The AIDS Coalition of Southern New Jersey (ACSNJ) was formed in 1988 and incorporated in 1989. It currently serves Burlington, Gloucester, Salem and Camden Counties. It has an annual budget of approximately 2.5 million dollars and is supported by the United Way of the four counties, state and federal AIDS grants, and donations from friends of the agency. There is a staff of 47 persons and a volunteer corps of over 600 people. It is a multi-service agency serving the individuals and their families who are affected by HIV/AIDS. It is the only agency in the region that provides such a comprehensive approach to assisting individuals and families.

MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of the AIDS Coalition of Southern New Jersey is to be the region's premier comprehensive resource for people affected by HIV or AIDS. Through leadership and community collaboration, ACSNJ strives to provide the highest culturally sensitive quality care, education and prevention services.

VISION STATEMENT

ACSNJ is an HIV/AIDS direct service agency whose vision is to increase the well-being of people infected with and affected by HIV/AIDS, to reduce the rate of HIV infection, to provide culturally and linguistically appropriate and effective services and to identify and assess new and changing service needs.

These basic beliefs and values apply to all consumers, volunteers, staff and the community at large.
