ACSNJ Law Project

legal-21 The ACSNJ Law Project gives those living with HIV/AIDS the courage, strength, and powerful tools they need in order to navigate the maze of the United States health care system. The Law Project attorney fights for disability benefits, both public and private as well as temporary and permanent, medical insurance, Medicaid, COBRA, and Medicare. In addition, ACSNJ’s Law Project attorney has over 25 years experience in dealing with the financial problems faced by HIV positive persons who have lost income due to illness, those who have faced creditor harassment, evictions, foreclosures, bankruptcy, traffic fines and loss of a driver’s license. Our attorney will work with utility companies to avert shut-offs or restore power and battle for emergency assistance to deal with immediate situations and prevent future crises. For clients remaining in the work environment, ACSNJ’s on-site attorney can use the Americans’ with Disabilities Act and Family and Medical Leave Act to secure modifications in the work environment to accommodate HIV thereby allowing the individual to remain working. The Law Project can fight back against an employer who discriminates against a person with HIV. For those in need of powers of attorney, advanced directives, legal-1guardianship appointments, ACSNJ’s Law Project attorney can draft these documents giving you peace of mind. The Law Project also provides useful seminars for clients and medical case managers concerning the following topics: “How to Apply for Social Security Disability Benefits”, “Returning to Work When on Social Security Disability”, “Expungements”, “Tenant’s Rights”, and “HIV and Family Law”. The ACSNJ Law Project is based out of our Bellmawr location but our attorney will travel to our Ray of Hope Drop-In Center in Camden, local HIV medical clinics, and even a sick client’s home in order to offer services if it is more convenient for the individual. With assistance given to over 200 clients a year, our dedicated and compassionate attorney is here to see that your legal needs are met.  For more information contact our Health Law Project Attorney at (856) 933-9500 ext. 222 or click here.
